Jellies

One of my favorite photographs. I love the way this image contrasts the black with the light up creature.

Spiney Star

Also in Salt Lake we went to the zoo. The colors of some of the underwater animals were captivating.

Temple Square

On our way to Washington this summer. My husband and I decided to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary but taking a detour in Salt Lake City, Utah. One of the places that we attended was Temple Square and the Mormon Temple. We are not Mormon but, that does not take away from the splendor of the temple.

Final Flight images

This may be some of my favorite landscape photographs that I have taken. It is a gorgeous example of creation. I am not sure how a place can be more gorgeous than a mountain lake with snow capped mountains. It reminds me of Pear Lake in Colorado.

This is one of the bridges in the Tri-Cities. It separates Kennewick and Pasco. It is like many bridges and fences separating the “good” from the “bad.” I do believe that this image is gorgeous but it still represents separation based on class and race.

I love this photo. The plane we were in flew low enough to get some good landscape photographs. At the same time offered a unique view. This cliff seems like it wouldn’t be pretty but it is absolutely gorgeous.~FF

Flight

The couple that we are staying with offered to take us on a plane ride. Mike (the husband) has a pilot’s license. We went to a town called Josef in Oregon. The town had a bronze foundry. We were able to see various stages of the lost wax technique. It was neat to see the technique that statues such as Julius Cesar and others were created with.

My favorite part of the trip was the airplane ride. It was interesting to learn more about how an airplane works and I loved the views. I was able to get some wonderful images.

Flight 2

The view from the plane allowed intriguing vantage points in photographs.

It was great!

Great Views

Here are some more images from the plane trip with Mike. I loved the textures and patterns that were visible. They were unique simply because you don't see them everyday. I do realize that this is a rare vantage point and that we were lucky to get a chance to have the experience.

Clover Island

My husband and I went to a restaurant on a river island, Clover Island, in the Columbia River. On the island there was a lighthouse that served no practical purpose. On the other side it was the first time I have seen a light house. In my opinion that was reason enough for it to be built.
The sunset was wonderful. Some more of the images from this trip may be showing up soon. Thanks for looking at my photography. To see more of my art work, check out my website.~FF

Felicia Follum's Photo Blog is Back!!

All right, I am ready to start again. This will be my new photo blog. I have really enjoyed this in the past. My last blog is part of my website. It was pretty sweet. I basically just post photographs that I take. Every now and then I will start a theme or a project. For now I think I will just have fun.

I am living in WA for the summer. It has been fun to walk around and draw (ink and wash) or photograph whatever is interesting. It tends to be flowers and people's landscaping. The roses here are the size of my hand (including fingers). This is one of those images.
